ACADEMIC INFORMATION

Assumption University has adopted the semester system. An academic year is divided into two semesters and a summer session. A semester lasts for approximately sixteen weeks.

  • First Semester-starts in June and ends in October.
  • Second Semester-starts in November and ends in March.
  • Summer Session-an intensive session stretching through April and May.
    The Summer Session is optional.

One credit hour involves a minimum of 15 hours of classwork. Therefore, a subject involving 3 credit hours will require at least 45 hours in class. To qualify for sitting for the final exam of any subject, student is required to have a minimum of 80 % class attendance. In some exceptional cases, at the discretion of the lecturer and/or the Dean of the Faculty concerned, this request.
